Han Ka-ram Reflects on Pivotal Training Stint with TNT FC on Path to K League

FC Anyang midfielder Han Ka-ram has opened up about the crucial role TNT FC played in his return to professional football in South Korea. In a recent interview, Han detailed how his training experience with the ambitious K5 club provided the necessary foundation and confidence to pursue a K League career.

Han’s professional journey began in Germany in 2017, where he played for FC Oberneuland, Sportfreunde Lotte, and BSV Schwarz-Weiß Rehden. After several years abroad, he returned to Korea with the initial intention of military service and stepping away from football. However, a change of heart and advice from his agent led him to seek one last chance at a professional career.

A Pivotal Connection

During the winter transfer window, Han found himself needing to regain peak physical condition for potential trials. It was then that Park Yi-young, a fellow Korean player he knew from Germany, introduced him to TNT FC. Han revealed that he was already aware of TNT FC’s reputation within the Korean football community, even beyond its K5 league status.

“Most football players in Korea probably know about TNT,” Han stated. “Even though they’re technically a K5 club, people think of them as ‘not really a K5-level club.’ A lot of players know about them.”

Han emphasized the difficulty of preparing adequately for professional trials while unattached to a team. “I personally think it’s impossible to properly prepare for trials unless you’re training with a team,” he explained. “For someone in my situation, TNT was the perfect environment.”

Organized Training Environment

Despite TNT FC’s K5 league affiliation, Han was impressed by the club’s organizational structure. He recounted an instance of heavy snowfall where, instead of canceling outdoor training, TNT FC quickly arranged for circuit training at an indoor gym, demonstrating a level of preparedness and responsiveness he hadn’t expected.

“Seeing that they already had an alternative facility ready, and staff who could immediately respond to situations like that, made me realise the club was much more organised than I had expected,” Han said.

This structured environment, coupled with the opportunity to train alongside other players with professional aspirations, significantly boosted Han’s confidence and readiness.

The Path to FC Anyang

Han credits his time with TNT FC directly with his successful transition to FC Anyang. “It gave me confidence,” he stated. “If your body isn’t ready, even if you join a professional team and train with pro players again, it’s hard. You need confidence in training before you can properly show your ability.” He believes that without the TNT FC experience, he would have entered winter training in a much less prepared state.

Looking Ahead

TNT FC has openly stated its ambition to ascend to the K League. Han sees this as a realistic goal for the club. While he is currently committed to FC Anyang, he did not rule out the possibility of future connections with TNT FC, whether as an opponent or perhaps even a teammate again.

“I think it’s definitely possible that we could see them in the K League one day,” Han commented. “Maybe before joining them, I could face them as an opponent first – or maybe even play for them, who knows?”
