The Toronto Blue Jays have mapped out a tentative pitching rotation for their return to play following the Major League Baseball All-Star break. Manager John Schneider revealed the projected order of starters to Sportsnet’s Shi Davidi, indicating a strategic approach to key upcoming series.

Rotation Outlook

The proposed rotation features Spencer Miles, Shane Bieber, Trey Yesavage, Dylan Cease, and Kevin Gausman. This order suggests that Miles, Bieber, and Yesavage will likely take the mound during the Blue Jays’ three-game weekend series against the Chicago White Sox. Following that homestand, Cease and Gausman are slated to begin the four-game set against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Recent Performances and Rest

Spencer Miles last appeared on Saturday against the San Diego Padres, throwing two scoreless innings from the bullpen in a narrow loss. Prior to that, he started on July 7 against the San Francisco Giants, giving up two runs over four innings. Dylan Cease, who started the All-Star Game for the American League, will receive some additional rest. He pitched one scoreless inning in the midsummer classic, throwing 25 pitches and striking out three batters.

Upcoming Schedule

After facing both the Chicago White Sox and the Tampa Bay Rays at home, the Blue Jays are scheduled for a six-game road trip that includes stops in Boston and Washington. A day off will precede their return home for a weekend series against the St. Louis Cardinals, leading up to the August 3 trade deadline.

Season So Far

The Blue Jays return from the break with a 45-51 record. They are currently fifth in the American League East standings but remain within striking distance of a wild-card spot, sitting just 2.5 games out.
